There were twenty-four gathered at St Lucia’s by the Sea for an inaugural Christmas luncheon. This in lieu of the previous Memorial Golf Day which, unfortunately, had to be withdrawn from our annual calendar. It was a very public venue, so no opportunity to thank all for attending, particularly President Phil Cohen and Barry Hennessy who journeyed down from Sydney. A special mention to Kate Pietracci for selecting the venue and menu, both excellent and enjoyed by all. Apologies were tendered by Tony and Jenny Hunt who had an unexpected but pleasurable demand on their grandparental role.The “vibes” in the room were great and many old friendships were rekindled with conversations long and loud. It was so successful that next year’s event is already in the pipeline, with an interim event to be scheduled for a Sunday in June/July at the Coniston Hotel if we get enough starters.
