May 2024 Newcastle Luncheon

A fine sunny day in The Hunter saw 26 of the ANZ fraternity descend on Cardiff RSL for the mid-year lunch hosted by the Newcastle Chapter of ANZROC(NSW). Chairman Ron Welsh opened proceedings by welcoming everyone and extending thanks to ANZROC Secretary Graeme Bool (and his wife Judith) for making the effort to come up from Sydney, and for helping to persuade the organisation to fund the lunch! The lunch was attended by mostly familiar faces, but we also welcomed newcomers Rod and Fiona Green to the fold. Apologies were received from Peter Willis, Noel Bottrell, Paul Jacka, Mike Riley, Neville Wilkinson, and Ken Byatt (you were missed, and we hope we see you at our November lunch) .As usual, Cardiff RSL’s buffet was very enjoyable and catered for most tastes (the desserts were popular!!). Six lucky seat numbers were drawn, and prizes were gratefully accepted by recipients. Thanks to Cheryl Richardson for once again attending to this little diversion. On the whole, a good outing.
